What a year 2025 has been for Donnybrook Scouts and it was great to mark it at our AGM yesterday evening. Firstly we invested all our new members into our Sections - this is where our young people promise to do their best and officially join our movement. Congratulations to all! This followed a brief AGM where we were able to share a highlight reel of our year and mark youth and adult achievements with Awards. Thanks to our County Commissioner, Dervilla McCann, for joining us. #alltheredties

Did you miss us? We're back in action for September and our 99th year of scouting started off with our Link Ceremony. Linkers from all our sections were invited to build a tree, symbolising our new "branches" of scouting that have joined our Group. Like a tree, our journey through scouting is ever evolving, growing and creating offshoots of new skills, ideas and friendships. Following on from the the ceremony, the sections made like trees and left for section-based activities for the day. The cracking weather helped us start off in style! #alltheredties
🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨🚨 Incredibly, despite it being a non-competitive event, Rossa from DVG has WON VENTACT! 🥇 Rossa is pictured here with key Ventact Committee members and event staff to celebrate his win, through hard work and thorough craic making. Congratulations also to 80th Cork (Little Island) and 52nd Dublin (Shankill) who came 2nd and 3rd respectively 🥈🥉 The Ventures will be back to defend their title at Ventact 2026! #alltheredties

A lot of hard work goes into this event in the background from both scouts and Scouters - we are thrilled with this result. 19 hours since they got off the plane from their Summer Expedition, our Ventures Daniel and Rossa depart for Kildare to commence the Venture Challenge. They will need to walk 100km over 5 days, completing projects and keeping a strict budget, to earn the coveted Challenge woggle. The boys are our first team since 2018 to attempt the event. We are cheering ye on lads! 🍀 #alltheredties
